Philippe Coutinho

As one of the highest scorers in the game last season and listed as a midfielder this year, he has been one of the most in demand picks to date. Now with his future seemingly resolved and continuing in a settled environment with the Gunners, he will have the platform to replicate that success once again.

However, for those yet to pick their team, it may be worth holding off on Philippe Coutinho. Sky Sports say that the Brazilian would be keen to move to Barcelona if a deal can be agreed between the two clubs. Whilst that remains unlikely, fantasy players will not want to lose a player so close to the start of the season.

Opening the door to potential waiver options is not the end of the world, but many of the best picks will already have been taken within your league. For that reason, whilst Coutinho does have high point scoring potential, it may be best to play it safe and not select the number ten.

An exciting proposition who may soon become available as a waiver signing is Joao Cancelo. Currently at Valencia, the Daily Mail say that Tottenham are considering a move for the Portugal international to add competition for Kieran Trippier at right-back at Wembley.

Cancelo is an attacking wing-back very similar to the likes of Marcos Alonso in style. If Mauricio Pochettino opts to field a line-up with wing-backs, or even just normal full-backs, Cancelo has high potential having an average of an assist every five games to date in his career.

Fans should also not be concerned about the first few weeks of the season if they have selected Pedro in their Draft Fantasy Football team. The Spaniard was sent off at Wembley in the Community Shield against Arsenal, but will not face a suspension in the Premier League for the sending off.
