Spanish teams have dominated the Champions League in recent years, particularly Real Madrid, who have won the competition for the past two years.

That makes La Liga an obvious place to look for your Draft Fantasy team, and here are our top picks from Spain for the Champions League Draft:

Champions League

Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid)

The obvious pick, a winner on several occasions and a record holder in the competition. Real Madrid have become the first side to win the competition back to back and could go far again this season. Expect the Portugal international to be one of the stars picking up huge points.

Lionel Messi (Barcelona)

There may be concerns about Barcelona not going as far as they have in previous years, but as usual, they will have a huge reliance on their number ten. Messi creates as many as he scores, unlike Ronaldo who is more of a goal getter, and all of Barcelona’s attacking play comes through the Argentine international.

Jan Oblak (Atletico Madrid)

Atletico often do well in Europe and will want to push their city rivals close yet again, and if they do it will be built on solid foundations at the back. Oblak has kept more clean sheets than any other goalkeeper in Spain since he joined the club, despite missing much of last season through injury.

Steven N’Zonzi (Sevilla)

If the Kante rule is active in your Champions League draft, then the former Stoke and Blackburn midfielder is an excellent pick. With his height, he often gets on the scoresheet at set pieces and he has been known to burst forward and look to play others in or score himself.

Champions League

Luka Modric (Real Madrid)

Real Madrid’s creative maestro, Modric may not get on the scoresheet all that often but he will register countless assists. With his vision and range of passing, the Croatian could be an underrated pick for any Draft Fantasy team.
