With the Premier League clicking into a rhythm after the International break, it is important for the draft managers to follow suit. Here we look at the five best possible picks for the upcoming game week.

David De Gea – Manchester United

Joel Matip thought he had scored. Phil Coutinho thought he had scored. Manuel Lanzini thought he had scored. They would have unless it was one David De Gea that they had to beat.

Jamie Carragher thinks De Dea is the best goalkeeper in the world and that is probably as true as it can get. The Spaniard has seven clean sheets so far. The current season in only eight weeks old. He has saved 20 of the 22 shots that he has faced so far.

He faces Huddersfield Town, a team that has only scored five goals so far this term. Bournemouth and Crystal Palace are the only teams to score less and they occupy the last two spots in the table. Not much to worry about for Dave and his record is likely to become nine clean sheets in 10 games.

Kyle Walker – Manchester City

The first goal in the rout against Stoke City was scored by Gabriel Jesus but it should probably be credited to Kyle Walker. He ran the entire length of the pitch, took the ball in his stride, held off the defender and delivered a dangerous cross for Jesus to capitalize.

That takes Walker’s assist tally to three for the season. While everyone appreciates Walker’s attacking instincts, he has not let go of his defensive duty. He has a 70% tackles success rate and has five made crucial interruptions and 38 ball recoveries.

Burnley at the Etihad should give Walker more freedom to roam forwards and add to his assists tally.

Kevin De Bruyne – Manchester City

“Kevin De Bruyne is the best player in the world bar one”, said Pep Guardiola. This comes from a man who has coached the likes of Andres Iniesta, Xavi Hernández, Robert Lewandowski and Arjen Robben.

Like Pep we shall leave ‘the one’ out of the discussion. De Bruyne has made and received the most number of passes in the final third this season. He fashions a chance for his teammates every 26 minutes and has subsequently created the most number of chances this season.

If all this is not cool enough, he has touched the ball every 54 seconds this season. From Chelsea reject to becoming the closest anyone can get to Messi is truly astonishing.

Harry Kane – Tottenham Hotspur

Harry Kane had the ball on the right touchline and he had Sergio Ramos and Marcelo for company. A few seconds later he was shaping himself to deliver a dangerous cross after having left Marcelo on the ground and giving Ramos a clever skip.

Raphael Varane had to endure this for the best part of 90 minutes. That is three of the first choice defenders at Real Madrid. Let that sink in.

Harry Kane has seven goals in the eight Premier League games. He has had the most number of touches in the final third among the forwards and the most number of headed attempts so far this season.

After having successfully tackled the defense of the European Champions, Dejan Lovren, Joel Matip and Liverpool might look like a cake walk. Confidence oozes success, and this success increases confidence manifold.

Tammy Abraham – Swansea City

Our differential pick for the week is Tammy Abraham. Swansea city has scored five goals so far. Tammy Abraham has four of those. While Renato Sanches garnered all the media attention, it is his on loan teammate who is getting them the necessary points.

However, his game is not only about scoring goals. He has so far made four blocks, seven clearances and five tackles and looks to get himself involved in the build-up play as much as he can.

The talented young Englishman is up against a Leicester defence that has conceded the fourth most goals so far. It is about time Swansea and Abraham raked up the goals.
