Chelsea returned to winning ways with a narrow victory over top-six rivals Manchester United. It was important that the team earned a positive result after the disastrous performance against Roma in the Champions League.

Antonio Conte made a few tactical changes to the team and they worked wonders, which once again showed how he valuable he can be in big matches.

The main story was that the decision to drop David Luiz, but there was a change in midfield that piqued this writer’s interest from a Draft Fantasy perspective.

Tiemoue Bakayoko was starting in a more advanced role and was often the midfielder that was furthest forward to support Alvaro Morata.

At times, he ran beyond the striker and it was he that took up central areas when the Spaniard ran the channels.

The midfielder always looked to be a great signing for the club due to the tactical flexibility he offers in the squad and it was attacking quality that was on show against Manchester United.

The 23-year-old attempted four shots during the match, which was more than any other player in the Chelsea team. He showed his confidence to take shots on and was taking up good positions in the final third to trouble the United defence.

Bakayoko will admit that he needs to work on his finishing, but he showed an intelligence to get into goal-scoring positions. In addition to the shots, the former Monaco man made one key pass, two tackles and two interceptions.

He offers value in every department and in leagues with the ‘Kante Rule’ activated, Bakayoko is looking to be a great option, especially if Chelsea continue to play him in an advanced midfield role.

The system worked well against Manchester United and the home side managed to dominate the game. Conte may be tempted to drop one of the central midfielders, but even so, with N’Golo Kante back from injury, the 23-year-old will be the one asked to get forward.

This season has already been an encouraging one for Bakayoko in Draft Fantasy as he has accrued 52 points. This includes one goal, two assists and 19 points through the ‘Kante Rule’.

He is currently the leading point scorer of all Chelsea midfielders and looks to be a great player to own regardless of his role in the team. However, if he continues to be given a license to push forward, he will become a better pick in Draft Fantasy.

If Bakayoko remains on the free agency in your game, which is unlikely, but possible, then you should try to add him to your squad as quickly as possible. He has real value, especially in those games with the ‘Kante Rule’ activated.

If another player owns him, it is worth offering a trade to try and get him. There are few consistent point scorers and the upcoming fixture list is kind to Chelsea.
