Manchester United January signing Alexis Sanchez had broken two season records as he walked off the pitch following victory against Huddersfield Town at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

Firstly, the Chilean international set about outdoing a perhaps unwanted club statistic, losing possession more often (32 times) than any other United player in a Premier League game this term.

Meanwhile, he also found himself fouled more times (7) than any other English top flight player in a single match in 2017/18.

From a Draft Fantasy perspective, owners of Sanchez will have looked on with intrigue, but will ultimately be disappointed with his return at Old Trafford on Saturday, particularly considering the extent of his involvement.

The Chilean international gave an all-action display and accrued more touches (122) than any other player, bar teammate Nemanja Matic (141). He made five tackles, won one aerial duel, made three key passes and took six shots at goal.

Having proved a constant thorn in the Terriers’ side, he was handed the opportunity to score from the spot late in the second half. Stepping up to take the penalty for his new team, he missed the initial attempt, before firing in the rebound.

He may have hit the back of the net, but his miss from 10 yards just moments before resulted in a two point deduction, giving him a final return of five points for Game Week 25 – a somewhat disappointing score considering his overall efforts.
