Ever fancied yourself the next Sir Matt Busby or Pep Guardiola! Do you think you know the Premier League well and the tactics of the beautiful game? Want to get financially rewarded for your skills! Well, Draft Fantasy Football is highly entertaining and is much more superior with gaining points than the original Fantasy Football.

Gambling

Although it seems to differ from online casinos as you are much more in control of your squad. However, you might use the same techniques playing Draft Fantasy Football as you would playing online poker. Many players all want the same cards, like the Ace of Spades, however there is only one in the deck. In Draft Fantasy Football many people in your league may want to sign Harry Kane but, again, he is only available to one team. Unlike playing games of luck like book of dead slots you can use skill to pick your side.

You can, similarly to mobile gaming either take on other managers in your league and create a side bet or compete in Lightning Drafts. To play, you must join a weekly or daily online Lightning Draft. The winner will take all in the prize pool. You can draft a new team each week!

The Basics in Selecting your Team

Similar to traditional Fantasy Football you pick a team of 15 players which is called ”The Draft”. Squads consist of the following: 2 Goalkeepers, 5 Defenders, 5 Midfielders and three Forwards. The difference is only each Premier League player can only be picked once in each team, unlike Fantasy Football where your team and the competitors could pick the same players.

How to Begin

First off, you need to register, join or even create your league. Your friends may already have an existing league however you have plenty of other online leagues available. If this is your first time playing, you’ll find it really gets you interested in games you wouldn’t normally watch and creates huge excitement, even if it is only Fulham Vs Brighton and Hove Albion! If you have a few players playing in a dull fixture, it can often become the highlight of your weekend. Who knew such a poor match on paper could be full of drama when one of your defenders smashed home the winner in the last minute!

Picking Your Players

Once joining a league you can now decide which players you’d like to prioritize for the draft. A draft will then take place, and once a player has been selected, none of the other teams can get the requested footballer. So, if Marcus Rashford is chosen by you, and is drafted to your squad then the other managers cannot use him in their squads. Each week throughout the season you pick your starting 11 and your 4 others to sit on the bench.

Finances are not an issue when picking your team

Unlike Fantasy Football, where you’re constantly keeping an eye on your budget, and having to pick a footballer that may never kick a ball all season, but he is cheap so you stick him in the squad anyway. The budget is completely scrapped for Draft Fantasy Football which allows you to pick the best football players without worrying about money. However you can trade players with other managers.

How to build up your score and tips to maximize your points

The difference between traditional Fantasy Football and Draft Fantasy Football is that you don’t have to pick a captain and vice captain. So, don’t worry if you think you have forgotten to pick a captain and you’ll lose out on double points like the original game allows you to. Scores are performance related, so the higher their performance the more points you score.

Here is how it works:

Playing for less than 1 hour in a game gives you 1 point.

A midfielder whose team keeps a clean sheet will get you 1 point.

Each time a goalkeeper saves three shots you will get 1 point – Personally I find this a huge improvement in comparison to Fantasy Football because often at times a keeper can have an extraordinary game and still leave in a few goals and your team’s points will suffer.

A Player who exceeds 60 minutes in a game gets you 2 points. Tip – It is important to find players who start week in week out. You may find that teams like Manchester City who regularly rotate their side may leave out some of their star players to keep each player fit throughout the long season.

If a player receives a red card you will be deducted 3 points.

If your player hits the back of his own net with an own goal you are deducted 2 points.

Each time your goalkeeper leaves in 2 goals you’ll be deducted 2 points. Tip – You will find with the lower teams in the league, that even if their goalkeeper is outstanding, they will still tend to leave in plenty of goals, often due to the poor defence.

If your player misses a penalty you will lose 2 points.

Each time your player receives a booking you will be deducted 1 point. Tip – Keep an eye on hot headed players or players who constantly pick up bookings. Not only will they be deducting your team points, they will also get suspended which can prove very frustrating. Throughout a season this can be very costly.

Each time your player gets an assist you’ll be rewarded 3 points.

Everytime a forward scores a goal you’ll get 4 points

Goalkeepers and defenders alike are rewarded 4 points for keeping a clean sheet. Tip – Just because a team might not be that high up the table, doesn’t necessarily mean your defenders or goalkeepers are not conceding goals. Sometimes,

it’s because a club might have a very poor frontline or they play with a very negative style of football.

Each time your goalkeeper saves a penalty you’ll get 4 points. Tip – It seems with VAR now available to the referees that more and more penalties are given so if you have a goalkeeper that has a good reputation on saving from the spot you could be in with a chance to gather lots of points.

If any of your midfielders score a goal your side will get 5 points. Tip – Throughout the years I have found midfielders who score free kicks and also penalties can be a great choose. This year Bruno Fernandes for Manchester United is constantly on penalty duty and also takes the majority of free kicks, however you would imagine most people are likely to pick him. Also, having the speed of Martcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood and Anthony Martial has helped Manchester United receive 18 spot kicks, most penalties awarded in one season for a team in the Premier Leagues history.

Each time your defender or goalkeeper scores your side will get 6 points. Tip – This is a huge chance to get lots of points. Target men from set pieces are the ones you have to look for.

While you are waiting for the next matches to come around and see how your team does you can also use your smartphone to access online casino games to keep occupied. These sites usually offer all the regular games like roulette, slots kingdom and poker that you can play with your fantasy football mates.
