And just like that, the much anticipated reveal of the new kits for the squads in the Premier League has happened. Even if some teams didn’t have any big changes.
Here’s a breakdown of the big changes in terms of colours, style, and brand, Keep in mind that the best kit is at the bottom.
Arsenal Kits
Arsenal’s new home kits are a darker shade of red than last season. Interestingly enough, the launch featured Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil. Both players have been linked to rumors about leaving, so we will just have to wait and see if Sanchez and Ozil ever end up playing in these kits:
Chelsea Kits
After flipping to Nike, Chelsea’s new home kit is based on a 1970s original shirt. The left sleeve reads ‘EST. 1905’, referencing the year of the club’s formation. Chelsea’s new away kit is white with a soft silver hue to reflect their recent capture of the Premier League silverware last season.
Huddersfield Kits
Huddersfield’s new shirt is a take on the town’s traditional blue and white stripes. A new bubble effect is featured on the blue stripe. A nice touch from their kit supplier, PUMA.
Liverpool Kits
After finishing 4th overall last season, Liverpool’s new away kit takes inspiration from the team’s first jersey from 1892. Maybe a bit of history will push Big Red to better success this season in the PL and UCL.
Man City Kits
Man City’s new home kit pays homage to the 1967/68 title-winning side. This season the entire jersey is the same colour, without different colored sleeves. The white pants make for a nice touch to the traditional Man City colours.
Man United Kits
Man United’s new away kit is based off of a 1990’s strip. If anyone knows how to show off new kits, it’s Pogba. The home kits are their traditional red red red red and more red.
Newcastle Kits
This season, Newcastle’s black and white PUMA kits will feature a commemorative chest celebrating the team’s 125th anniversary.
Southhampton Kits
Southhampton’s new Under Armour kits were inspired by their kits from the early 1980’s. Their away kits feature five teal-coloured stripes and are complemented by teal shorts and black hooped socks.
Spurs Kits
Welcome to Nike. For this season only, the Tottenham Hotspur crest, which comprises the famous cockerel motif atop a football, has been enclosed in a shield design. This pays tribute to the 1960/61 season. Their away kits are head-to-toe rich navy blue in another throw-back to the 1960/61 double-winning season. Time to party like it’s 1960.
Watford Kits
Watford’s new home kits made by adidas, pays tribute to their traditional jersey, but they’re much more innovative. The stripes are gone, and the black collar is now dark red.
West Brom Kits
West Brom’s new away kits flip the colour palette of the home strip with a white base, red sleeves, and navy detailing. These kits are looking good, but we’ll have to wait and see if West Brom can follow.
West Ham Kits
West Ham’s claret and blue kits are inspired from the strip worn in the 1976 European Cup Winners’ Cup final. All black everything, West Ham’s away kits are the first all black kits to be worn by the Hammers.
Draft Fantasy Kits
Our new Draft Fantasy kits have our traditional black colour with our green, black, and white logo front and center. With these bad boys you know it’s going to be the best season yet!
