Manchester United will be hoping for a much better season during the 2017/18 campaign and re-emerge as title contenders.
Jose Mourinho has a good record of winning the title during his second season with a club and there will be hope within Old Trafford that the record continues.

They have made three exciting additions in the form of Victor Lindelof, Nemanja Matic and Romelu Lukaku, which strengthens the spine of the team.
In terms of Draft Fantasy Football, they will be one of the teams that players will target for draft picks as they are expected to be near the top of the league.
Here are the best three draft picks in the Manchester United squad…
Romelu Lukaku
This is an obvious one, but he is likely to be one of the first players drafted in the majority of leagues. A goal-scorer is crucial if you are to score consistent points and as one of the strikers expected to challenge for the golden boot, Lukaku is an attractive option.
He managed to score 25 goals for Everton last season and he will now be playing in a more creative team. Chances will come his way and he has shown a clinical edge to suggest he will be able to take the step up to the next level.
United’s problem last season was that they weren’t able to kill teams off and they dropped too many points at home. Zlatan Ibrahimovic was a great player for them, but they were over-reliant on him.
The Swede also played a part in the team’s attacking woes at times, as he dropped too deep at times, which blunted the Red Devils. Lukaku is a striker that focuses on scoring goals and he is always looking to get into positions that allow him to do that.
There will be some that accuse him of being a stat-padder against weaker teams, but in fantasy, that is irrelevant. He will score goals and that is why he needs to be a priority in the first round of drafting.
Paul Pogba
The Frenchman is no longer the most expensive player in the world and that could have a freeing effect on him, as he will now longer have to be carrying that tag.
At times last season, the pressure seemed to weigh on his mind and he didn’t deliver as many top level performances as United would have expected.
However, part of the reason for that was an unbalanced midfield. Mourinho has looked to address that with the signing of Nemanja Matic. The Serbian will sit in front of the back four and provide freedom to Pogba.
This season, he will be given more license to roam forward and impact the game in the final third. His range of passing and devastating shooting from range mean that he will contribute goals and assists.
Last season, he contributed five goals and four assists. He will know that isn’t good enough and it is an area that will have to improve. The midfielder has already sparked up a good relationship with Lukaku off the pitch and it could be one that transfers to good play on it.
There will be a lot of doubts regarding his fantasy ability, but if you take a gamble on him as a first or second choice midfielder, it could massively pay off in your favour.
Antonio Valencia
There are few better right backs in the Premier League than Valencia and he will be one of the best defensive options in the game this year. Under Mourinho, United will keep plenty of clean sheets and having one of their defenders will give you a huge advantage.
The reason Valencia is the best option from the defence is the attacking value he offers. He looks to get forward at every opportunity and he will contribute in the final third. The signing of Lukaku could aid him in this, as he is an effective crosser and he now has a centre forward that can dominate in the air.
Last season, he contributed a goal and three assists, but he was always a good outlet for United on the right. There are full-backs in the league that are better options going forward as they play in a team that is more fluid in their formation.

However, Valencia will be a part of one of the best defences in terms of clean sheets. This means that he goes into the season as one of the best defenders and he will be a great pick-up for your team.
