With Sergio Aguero ruled out for as long as six weeks after breaking a rib in a car accident last week and Alvaro Morata hobbled off injured against Manchester City, a number of Draft Fantasy managers will be facing a tough few weeks ahead without their top scorers.
With managers reliant on transfers on waivers, here are three players who you may be able to snap up to fill the gap whilst your main men are out injured and not picking up points…
Richarlison (Watford)
The Brazilian striker was linked with Chelsea in the summer before eventually joining the Hornets, and with 30 points under his belt already it’s clear to see why.
As an unknown quantity when most drafts were made, he’s one of the highest scoring players who could have snuck under the radar.
Having returned more points than Alexandre Lacazette, Gabriel Jesus or Roberto Firmino by this point of the season, you might need to act quickly to snap him up.
Joselu (Newcastle United)
The Spaniard may only have scored twice this season, helping him on his way to a respectable 18 points to date, but he is clearly Rafa Benitez’s preferred option up-front for the Magpies. Whilst they are hardly free-scoring, they do know how to grind out a result.
With six goals and an assist in a struggling Deportivo A Coruna side in La Liga last season, he could be an underrated pick to have in your side in the coming weeks ahead.
Tammy Abraham (Swansea City)
Swansea may be at the wrong end of the table, but their upcoming fixtures will see them come up against two of the newly promoted sides, struggling Bournemouth and Burnley after a tough tie against Arsenal. They’ll need to pick up points there, and they’ll be reliant on Abraham’s goals to do so.
With two goals and 21 points, it’s not quite the goal a game ratio that he managed in the Championship with Bristol City last season, but he clearly has firepower in him at the top level.
