The development of fantasy sports across the world in the past decade has been nothing short of incredible. While many avid Premier League lovers have started building leagues of mates, drafting their unique squads, and setting their unique lineups each week, even these top level fantasy Premier League pioneers are missing out on the most fair, most exciting, most real way to experience building and owning your fantasy squad. Enter the Auction Draft.
Much like it may have been difficult at first to add or even move on to a draft league, your first couple auction drafts may not come easy, but chances are quite soon after you’ll realise that Auction Draft Fantasy football is the real deal. Your squad and all the other squads in your league won’t just be based on template teams, the luck of the draft order draw, or auto-picks. In an auction draft whether you’re online or not, it is you against the market. Pure, unadulterated, and truly feeling like the football manager that you know you should be.
Auction means Action
During an auction draft you are on the clock from the first player in a bidding war with your mates. No player is off limits and no player can be bought twice. If someone in your league blows their wad of cash too early, you can pick up the pieces. Be careful though because you also risk losing top talent on the market. During the auction you’ll get a real lesson in budgeting instead of the Economics 101 classroom garbage of removing real market affects. Use last second bids or bid up others favorite striker to have other managers spend up a nice chunk of their £250. (Just make sure you don’t get left footing the bill once the bidding is done). Feel what it’s like to actually make real-time decisions with your budget instead of spending hours trying to fit in players.
Be the Real Champion
Best of all, the winner of your league is the real champion! The managers who have a top pick or follow the best template teams each gameweek has no advantage. You can earn real bragging rights and let your league know that you rightful deserve the respect of a Champion.
Sealed Bids
For the first time in Premier League fantasy football, Draft Fantasy is offering sealed bids. This is to ensure that all auctions drafts are fair even if you can’t be there for any part of the the Auction Draft. Draft Fantasy’s sealed bid system allows you to take part in the auction draft even if you’re offline during the live auction draft. Just set a maximum bid for each player (a player with no maximum bid will be £0) and if offline during the auction draft, you will automatically bid until your max bid is reached. Don’t worry, the Draft Fantasy bidding system will increase your bid by £1 until the bidding exceeds your max bid or until your budget runs out and no other managers will be able to see what your maximum bid is
For example, if the current bid for Salah is £34 and you have set a sealed max bid of £70, the automated bidding system will bid £35 for you. If someone else bids £40, the system will bid £41 for you. If someone then bids £73, the system will no longer make bids for you, and someone else will win the auction for him.
Maximum sealed bids also have an effect on the nominations you make. In general the highest rated player will be nominated in case you are offline or run out of time to nominate.
A Quick Summary of Why to Try Auction
Auction drafts make the draft process totally fair and not reliant on any outside factors. Auction drafts are more active, fair, competitive, and social than the regular snake drafts.
