16.4 No information may be reproduced in any format from our Services without prior written consent from Draft Fantasy. Informative and explanatory copy, including the scoring system and rules, forms a part of the terms and conditions of the Game.
17. UNDERSTANDING THE GAME
17.1 Free Leagues are free to play. An individual Manager may enter a maximum of 10 leagues (as may be amended from time to time), irrespective of whether they have more than one valid email address. Any Manager being found to have entered more than ten (or other maximum number of leagues as may be applicable from time to time) teams will have all their teams removed from the Game.
Managers create their own free season-long Fantasy Football Team of 15 players or weekly Fantasy Football Team of 5 players within Public or Private Leagues from the Game’s player list. Managers will select players for their Fantasy Teams in a selection process called “the Draft.”
17.2 Fantasy Teams will score points in accordance with the Game’s point scoring parameters based on the real life performance of a Manager’s selected players in all eligible matches. Eligible matches are all Premier League or other leagues we may offer matches in any given season when so ever played.
The Draft
17.3 The draft is when you pick your players. It consists of 15 rounds of picks and progresses turn by turn with each person in the league picking one player per turn. The order of the picks is chosen randomly when the draft starts. Each turn is between 30 seconds and 1 hour long depending on your league’s settings. If you don’t pick a player within the allotted time, or you’re offline during the draft, a player will be picked for you automatically. You can read more about this below in the Autopick section.
The order of picks is reversed every round in what is also known as a Snake Draft. This means that whoever picked first in the 1st round, will pick last in the 2nd round and first again in the 3rd round and so on. Whoever was last to pick in the 1st round will pick first in the 2nd round.
To illustrate, if Player A, Player B, Player C, and Player D are in a league together and the random draft order is: Player B, Player A, Player D, Player C, then the picks would go as follows:
Round 1 | Round 2 | Round 3 | … | Round 14 | Round 15 | |
Pick 1 | Player B | Player C | Player B | … | Player B | Player C |
Pick 2 | Player A | Player D | Player A | … | Player A | Player D |
Pick 3 | Player D | Player A | Player D | … | Player D | Player A |
Pick 4 | Player C | Player B | Player C | … | Player C | Player B |
If a Manager is not online for the draft, or doesn’t pick a player within the allotted amount of time a player will be picked for you automatically. The player picked for that Manager is the highest priority player in the Manager’s autopick list that can fit into the Manager’s squad. Managers can decide on their autopick list and change it before and during the draft.
If the autopick list is empty, or no player can be picked from the autopick list due to squad constraints, or because the player has already been picked, the highest rated, available player will be picked for you. Each player has a rating between 0 and 100. Managers can see each player’s rating in the player list. If two players have the same rating, the player whose name is first in the alphabet will be picked.
If a Mangers sets autopick to “on,” as soon as that Manager’s turn happens in the draft, a player will be picked for that Manager automatically. When autopick is set to “off,” a player will only be picked for Managers automatically once the time limit for the turn ends.
Player List
17.4 The players in the Game are those included on the Website or App player list. Draft Fantasy have determined their classifications for the purpose of the game and these may not necessarily reflect real-life classifications. Draft Fantasy will not enter into any correspondence relating to player inclusion, details of the player list, nor will they accept the inclusion into a team of any player not on the published list. Players may be added and removed from the player list during the Game at the discretion of Draft Fantasy.
Team Changes and Transfers
17.5 Unlimited team and formation changes are permitted throughout the season. Draft Fantasy will not be responsible for incomplete transfers, transfers lost in transmission or transfers received late due to high online traffic levels. Transfers may be made on the Game Website at draftfantasyfootball.co.uk or via the App.
Scoring Points
17.6 Points for goal assists will be awarded in the opinion of and at the sole discretion of Draft Fantasy, but will be largely based on assists as defined in scoring data feeds. Assists are generally awarded to the player who provided the last clean pass, had a shot parried or rebounded off the woodwork, an attempt that results in an own goal or who won a penalty. A penalty save is awarded to a goalkeeper whether or not they touch the ball. This means that a goalkeeper will be awarded the penalty save if the penalty taker completely misses the target.
Classified points will be updated on the Game, Website, and App daily and managers can view the status of points on any given game day.
There are four statuses for points on each game day:
PRE MATCH: Points are yet to be scored as the game day’s matches are yet to kick-off.
INPLAY: Game day matches are in progress and live scoring is recording indicative points based on scoring data feeds (more details below).
PROVISIONAL: Game day matches are complete and the live scoring section is displaying the day’s indicative points for each player in the eligible XI, week and overall totals and overall position.
CONFIRMED: Points updates have been completed and all points displayed are confirmed. Leagues and leaderboards are now up-to-date
17.7 Points will not be retroactively updated due to any decision by the official disputed goals panel or disciplinary panel. Players will not be awarded points if they are awarded a goal in this manner, nor will the original scorer be deducted points. Players will not have deducted points restored for rescinded red cards.
Draft Fantasy’ decision in respect of the awarding of points will be final and they will not enter into any correspondence regarding points deducted or allocated to players.
Live Scoring
17.8 During all eligible matches, Managers can view the progress of their Fantasy Football Team and view live update commentary on the Game Website and App. Team scores will automatically update in accordance with the Game’s scoring parameters as an event occurs in real-life games. Live score updates should be regarded as indicative only and classified score updates will be applied to all teams by 2 pm the day following completion of a day’s eligible matches and these may vary from scores indicated in the live score updates. Live scores are powered by the scoring data feed. Classified scores are verified by Draft Fantasy following assessment from a range of data sources. In all instances, the classified scores will be the scores that will apply to the Game and leader boards. Where the live scores vary from the classified scores, the decision of Draft Fantasy will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Free Leagues
17.8 Managers may set up a Free League to compete with friends, family and colleagues. There is a maximum of 16 teams that may participate in any Free League so long as each is valid and is entered by individual Managers. Managers will have the ability to remove only their own team until the Draft. Only the game judges may remove managers from Free Leagues after the aforementioned deadline Where there is evidence of abuse of Free Leagues or Premium Leagues, the game judges may take any course of action they feel appropriate, including removing offending teams from Leagues, disqualifying the associated manager from the game and refusing future entry into Draft Fantasy Football.
To create your own Free League, you must first complete a team entry and registration and then click on the Create League button. You will be asked if you would like to create a Private or Public League and to give your League a name, which must be done in accordance with the conditions set out in Team Names. Once setup, you will be the nominated Chairman of your League and your League will be given a unique League ID. This League ID and the league name can be circulated to friends, family and colleagues using the sharing facility on the Game, Website, or App. Any League member may share a Free League’s details. Managers who join Leagues without being invited are subject to being removed by the Chairman or game judges. To join a Free League you will need the League ID. To score points from the first eligible matches of the season, Leagues must be created and turned into a Premium League by the first Premier League kick off. A Free League must have a minimum of two eligible teams. Free Leagues can be set up at any time.
