Signed for £34 million from Roma, Salah’s pre-season form has given Liverpool’s fans reasons to believe that he could prove to be a key player for them in the coming season, and a big point earner for your Draft Fantasy team.
Why would Salah be such a good pick?
He is already scoring goals. With two successful strikes in three appearances so far this pre-season, Salah is making an immediate impression on his team-mates and fans alike. If he can continue such goal scoring form into the season, he’ll be a prolific point earner.
His link-up play with his team-mates is impressive too. In scoring his second goal against Leicester City on Saturday, Salah showed exquisite link-up play with an incredible pass and move action with Philippe Coutinho. That kind of link is destined to bring goals and assists for the Egyptian.
In addition, Salah is almost guaranteed game-time at the start of the season. With Sadio Mane still on the comeback trail, Salah is likely to start the season as first choice on the right wing even if the Senegal star rebuilds fitness. That will give him the chance to nail down a regular spot and earn points straight from the off.
Where should he fall in your list of priorities?
It could be a gamble to select the 25-year-old early on given that his only Premier League experience was a disappointing spell at Chelsea.
The early indications would suggest that Salah is now a much more convincing option for Jurgen Klopp, but he is still something of an unknown quantity and points are less certain than a number of established Premier League players in the early rounds. That said, his quality could make him a big earner and he will be snapped up sooner rather than later in most drafts.
