The season is quickly approaching and there are a number of question marks regarding which players are the best options for your team in Draft Fantasy Football this year.
Tottenham Hotspur’s Dele Alli and Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne will be high on every player’s list of targets heading into this season’s draft.

They both finished in the top five midfielders in the game last season and are expected to be there again this time around.
It is unlikely that you will be able to draft both, which raises the following question: who would be the better pick for your team?
Playing time
This may seem to be a silly point, as they are both integral to their teams, but the strength of both squads means that it is worth discussing.
Tottenham haven’t made any signings and Alli played a total of 3045 minutes in the Premier League last season.
That is unlikely to alter too much during this campaign. Meanwhile, the 21-year-old plays in an advanced role in both the 4-2-3-1 and the 3-4-2-1 formations.
He operates as a second striker in both systems and he is expected to ease the goal-scoring burden on Harry Kane.
De Bruyne was a near ever-present for Manchester City last season, but he accumulated fewer minutes than Alli with 2885.
Pep Guardiola has strengthened this summer with the addition of Bernardo Silva and that could take away minutes from the Belgian.
Although he is expected to feature prominently again, it is the position that he will be used in that could damage his fantasy value.
He is best when used in an advanced central role, but this won’t always be possible, especially if they opt for two strikers at times.
The 26-year-old remains a threat on the right wing, but he is less effective and less likely to score fantasy points.
Goal threat
The main question you have to ask yourself when considering which one of these two to draft is would you rather have a midfielder that scores goals or creates opportunities for others.
Dele Alli managed to contribute 18 goals and seven assists last season, which is an extraordinary return for a midfielder. He was involved in a goal every 121.8 minutes and his consistency was what was most impressive about his final third contribution.
The England international is showing no signs of slowing down and a similar haul is likely this season.
For Manchester City last season, De Bruyne contributed six goals and 18 assists. It is clear that he is more of a creator and he should be able to gain a lot of assists this year too, as he will be playing in one of the best attacks in the league. He was involved in a goal every 120.2 minutes.
Although this is fractionally better than Alli, there are more points allocated for a goal and that does make the Tottenham man a more appealing option in Draft Fantasy.
Verdict: Alli vs De Bruyne
It is difficult to predict how the coming season will play out, but it is important for you to make an educated guess when it comes to Draft Fantasy Football.
Last season, Alli scored 26 more points than De Bruyne and his goal threat means that he is a better option than the Manchester City midfielder.
It is crucial that you manage to draft one of the top five midfielders from last season, as they are known quantities in Draft Fantasy and offer less of a risk.
If there is the opportunity for you to take Alli, you should take it, as he could be even more devastating during this campaign, with the 20-goal mark well within his capabilities.
