At Swansea City, Gylfi Sigurdsson is a quality Draft Fantasy Football option. Not only is the Welsh outfit’s team built around him, he also takes set pieces, which leads to an increased points total come the end of the season.

Last season, he managed to collect 201 points in the game. This saw him finish as the only midfielder in the top ten not registered to a top six club and 6th overall in his position.
Nonetheless, as is usually the case with a talented player in this Icelander’s position, his contribution of nine goals and 13 assists has led to him being linked with a move away from the Liberty Stadium.
The uncertainty over his future certainly damages his Draft Fantasy Football value, as he is unlikely to be a top ten midfielder if he does not remain at Swansea.
The team is built to get the best out of the Icelandic midfielder and he benefits from that in the final third. Meanwhile, his set pieces are worth a good haul of points over the course of the season.
If he made a move to Everton, as is reported by the Mirror, he may not start every game week and he certainly wouldn’t be given the opportunity to take set pieces as often as he does in South Wales.

As things stand, Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil and Chelsea’s Pedro are both safer draft picks, but Sigurdsson’s value will rise again if he stays at Swansea.
Although he shouldn’t be a priority pick-up, if you are able to take him as a second midfielder, it would be worth a gamble.
Siggy only stands out at Swansea because most of his team mates are sub standard. He is what i call a good midfielder but not a Great midfielder. He will do his best but others will be preferred and he will be a bit part player and benched like he was at spurs…
