We are now three months into the 2018/19 Premier League season and the table is beginning to take on a familiar shape. Fantasy managers have scoured the division for bargains as they bid for glory and the likes of Matt Doherty and Roberto Perreira have come up trumps. But for the most part the well-established stars of the fantasy game have shone the brightest as they have dazzled for the elite clubs. Here are the top five players so far this season:

  1. Callum Wilson

The Bournemouth striker has started the season in sensational form, banging in six goals and providing another four assists for the in-form Cherries. He is the exception to the rule that sees players from the elite clubs dominate the fantasy game, as he is sandwiched between a collection of Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool and Arsenal players. That is testament to just how well Bournemouth have played so far this season, and they deservedly occupy sixth place in the table. Wilson has always possessed exceptional talent, but his Premiership career has thus far been blighted by injuries. If he can stay fit he could rack up an impressive points tally this season.

  1. Sergio Aguero

Aguero is always a risky pick for your fantasy football team as he too is regularly hobbled by injuries. But when he is fit and in-form there is no better goal machine in the Premiership. Man City are the overwhelming favourites to win the Premiership again this season, read this   Bookmaker review if your planning on placing action on who might capture the crown. Aguero will continue to benefit from superb service from the likes of David Silva, Leroy Sane, Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva. He offers a ferocious blend of pace, movement and intelligence, and his finishing ability is peerless.

  1. Raheem Sterling

The transformation in Sterling’s game since Pep Guardiola arrived at Man City is nothing short of remarkable. He was always blessed with bags of pace and exceptional dynamism in the final third, but a poor final ball and wayward finishing often let him down. Guardiola has helped him discover far greater levels of composure and confidence, and he has been rewarded with a devastating attacking talent. Competition for places in City’s attack is ferocious, with Sane, Riyad Mahrez, Gabriel Jesus, Aguero and Bernardo Silva all jostling for position, but Sterling is making himself impossible to drop. He has six goals this season, just one behind Aguero, and he has also provided five assists, more than any other player in the league.

  1. Marcos Alonso

The marauding Chelsea left-back is a certified fantasy football legend. He was the first name on many a team sheet during the Blues’ 2016/17 Premiership triumph under Antonio Conte, and he looks back to his very best form. The beauty of Alonso is that he is brilliant going forwards, providing plenty of assists and grabbing his fair share of goals, while he also benefits from playing in a tight Chelsea defence. They have kept plenty of clean sheets already, and Alonso is a mainstay in a team that remains unbeaten as we head into mid-November.

  1. Eden Hazard

The Belgian forward has missed some playing time through injury of late, but he still has more fantasy points than any other player this season. He came off the bench to tee up Alvaro Morata in Chelsea’s 3-1 win against Crystal Palace at the weekend, taking him one point clear of teammate Alonso. Hazard is the favourite to be named PFA Player of the Year this season after starting the campaign in utterly blistering form. His goals per minutes ratio is better than ever before and he has already scored seven times this season, leaving him top of the goalscoring charts along with Aguero and Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. His all-round play has been exceptional and he has the pace, dribbling ability and vision to continue wreaking havoc all season long, making him a great choice as captain of your fantasy team.
