Gameweek 33 should be relatively free of disruptions for Premier League Fantasy Football managers as the majority of teams will have had a week off other than Leicester and Man Utd. It is also worth noting that the Double Gameweeks are beginning once again starting next week so you may want to keep that in mind when making your next Draft Fantasy moves. For now let’s look at the matchups to see how to maximize your lineup’s fantasy output.

Tottenham v Bournemouth

Spurs’ fantasy stars are flying high right now and I don’t see that changing at home to Bournemouth. Alli, Eriksen and Son may have their goal production decrease a little with the return of Kane but points should still come. The defense has been strong with Davies and even Trippier getting in on the act too. Davies is the safer of the two as Rose has still not returned but Walker should. It is all about the King for Bournemouth, Josh that is, with Afobe helping out to a lesser degree. Not many have scored as many as King in 2017 but maybe sit him for this tough road matchup.

Crystal Palace v Leicester

Palace are riding a high coming off of a big upset of Arsenal and if they continue to get that strong play from Zaha, Benteke, Townsend and Sakho then why not back them at home to a Leicester team that may have one eye on their UCL 2nd leg. Benteke is not on pk duty it seems but still brings a threat up front, and Townsend is a slight risk so monitor that situation. Puncheon and Cabaye are the other starters that can pop up with a goal/assist for you here. Leicester have Vardy and Mahrez of course but their minutes could be limited so Slimani might be your best bet to get you a goal.

Sunderland v West Ham

Let’s face it, every game is a must win for Sunderland, but especially at home to a team that is in the bottom half of the table. Defoe and Anichebe will be the target men and Januzaj should return. I just don’t like the way they are playing and am hesitant to suggest backing even their stars right now. West Ham have some attacking talent that could have some success against the PL’s worst team, headlined by Carroll in attack. With Antonio (injury) and Noble (suspended) out then Snodgrass, Lanzini and Ayew should be locks to start too. I could envision 2-1 Hammers here so neither defense is that appealing to me.

Everton v Burnley

A very solid home matchup for Everton has a variety of their players on my radar. Lukaku, Barkley (assuming he has recovered from his bruised pride after getting clocked at a night club 😏), Mirallas and Baines are the big names but I like the potential of guys like Davies and Holgate (autocorrect really, and I mean really thinks I mean Colgate). Robles has to be seen as a top goalie option as Burnley have an awful away record. And what about the Clarets? I guess if you think that the Everton backline is not as strong without Coleman and Williams again possibly then Gray could be worth a roll of the dice.

Stoke v Hull

Stoke at home to Hull should be a good spot for your Potters despite Hull’s improved play. Arnautovic is central to their chances and I like him here. Shaqiri is back and Berahino seems to have established a consistent starting role. Walters picked up a goal last game but has been ruled out along with Allen. The defense has as good a chance as any this week to get a clean sheet so start them with confidence and hope for the best. Like I said, Hull are no pushover anymore, but they have been much better on home turf. Niasse, Hernandez and Grosicki have been their best players recently and they will need to keep up the good play if Hull are going to avoid relegation.

Watford v Swansea

Watford players are a good shout at home against Swansea. They were whooped by Spurs but Mazzarri had a banged up and fatigued team that day, they should be much fresher here. Deeney is the man, plus Okaka and Niang come with potential. Success got a start and could become a factor. The backline are worth a go too, with Britos returning and Holebas and Janmaat in particular not afraid to get forward. Swansea need to find their scoring legs again or else they will find themselves on the way out. The return of Llorente should help in that regard as it would give Sigurdsson a real target up front. This is one of those games that could easily be 1-0 or 3-2.

Southampton v Man City

Man City travels to take on Southampton and I don’t see any reason why Pep would not start his preferred front five of Agüero, Sterling, De Bruyne, Silva and Sané. Outside of the big boys I wouldn’t stray far as I think they will concede to the Saints. Southampton are close to welcoming back Gabbiadini, but you would expect it will be a spot on the bench at best, wait until you see him back before deploying. So the attacking onus will fall to the usual suspects in Tadic, Redmond and Ward-Prose. Bertrand and Soares bring an offensive upside but a clean sheet is not expected against this City offense.

West Brom v Liverpool

After leading the comeback last week Countinho and Firmino will be back but despite helping out I think that Sturridge is still behind Origi in the pecking order. Pulis will definitely have a plan to try to stunt Liverpool’s offense so watch for a upset here. I don’t see a clean sheet for either so focus on the attackers. For the Baggies it could come from anywhere due to their productive defenders but Róndon, Chadli and Phillips are still the focus of the attack.

Man Utd v Chelsea

Regardless of who starts for Utd in their Europa League game you should expect a first choice lineup against Chelsea. While these two could cancel each other out in a defensive battle, there just is too many stars for a 0-0 snoozer. I will be starting my contingent and hoping for goals. If you have some borderline starters and a better option then probably best to go with it.

Middlesbrough v Arsenal

You would think that Arsenal would be ripe for a big day here but they looked poor at Palace and Middlesbrough will park the bus and be potentially tough to break down. Wenger has somewhat suprisingly given Welbeck three starts in short succession so I am not going to say Giroud will get a start this time…so he probably will. Sanchez’s move to the left side has stunted his production but you can’t do anything but start him, he could explode at any time. Could the struggling defense get a clean sheet, sure, anyone has a chance against Middlesbrough. So what about Middlesbrough? After coming off the bench, you would think both Negredo and Traore would be back starting. Traore could trouble that Gunners’ defense like Zaha did.

Enjoy GW33 as it is about to get a little bit crazy in the home stretch, lots of DGWs and opportunities to make up ground in your chase for fantasy glory.
