Sky Sports claim that West Ham United are closing to bringing a former Manchester United striker back to the Premier League. That man is 29-year-old Mexico international Javier Hernandez.
A proven goalscorer in England and abroad, Chicharito’s efforts in Bundesliga last season would have earned him a solid 98 point return. Considering that involved rotation as he featured in the Champions League, his return would easily have broken into three figures had he only been playing in the kinds of fixtures that West Ham will have to handle next season.

What would Hernandez bring to West Ham?
That can be seen in that Hernandez played over 60 minutes just 20 times last season. At West Ham, if fit, he would expect to do so at least 30 times. Whilst this may be the bread and butter of point scoring, that would add a further 20 points to his tally.
Along with more game time, he would see his goal tally increase too. 44 points for 11 goals and nine points for three assists is a highly respectable tally, better than any of the Hammers’ forwards last season, but there is room for improvement.
Hernandez would thrive with the service coming from the likes of Michail Antonio on the wings and his goal-poaching has already proven to be a real threat in the Premier League during his spell at Old Trafford. If he can replicate that kind of form again, Hernandez will be an excellent pick for your squad.

In which round should Hernandez be drafted?
A deal is not yet agreed but could be secured in the coming days. Whilst Hernandez is unlikely to be one of the earliest picks, he is a good option to bear in mind should you be looking for a high scoring forward as the draft progresses into the latter rounds. He may not be prolific enough to be your top priority, but he’s a very good option to have in your squad.
