Chelsea’s marquee summer signing and Diego Costa’s replacement, it is fair to say that Alvaro Morata has plenty to live up to.
The Spanish international striker signed for the Stamford Bridge outfit on Friday evening, having passed his highly anticipated medical with Antonio Conte’s side.
Signed for a record £60 million fee, as reported by BBC Sport, the Spaniard makes the switch to the Blues on a five-year deal.

He has since joined up with his new teammates in Singapore over the weekend as they continue their preparations for the new Premier League season.
Such a big name striker is always likely to come into contention for an early round pick in your draft, but is he a wise choice?
First off, last season at Real Madrid saw Morata struggle for game time, making only 14 La Liga starts for the Spanish champions.
He enjoyed some fine form, scoring 15 goals and assisting a further five, but failed to nail down a regular starting spot. That had a substantial impact on what would have been his points return last season, still managing a respectable 107 points.
However, he did boast the best goals to minute ratio of any striker in Zinedine Zidane’s squad which could be a positive sign. In just 14 starts, Morata provided 11 of his goals and four of his assists.
Replicating that form across say 32 games, allowing for injury or rotation, and assuming that he is first choice, would net him an incredible 267 points. That could be possible with huge quality like Pedro, Willian and Eden Hazard creating opportunities for him.
Can Morata replicate last season’s form?
It’s unlikely he will make such a huge impact in his first season at Stamford Bridge, particularly after a disrupted pre-season and with having to adapt to life in London and the Premier League.
There is also the potential drawback that Morata has a fairly poor disciplinary record for a striker.
Spanish referees can be more keen to dish out yellow cards, particularly late on in games when Morata often featured, but an average of a yellow card every 166 minutes is more than double any of the Blues’ defenders last season.
Even then, any player who has the potential to reach the 200 point mark must be in consideration for your first pick if you want to make a success of your Draft Fantasy team.
