Manchester United have been one of the leading teams in the Premier League so far and they are emerging as the biggest challengers to Manchester City. Jose Mourinho is once again proving his managerial ability after two underwhelming seasons in the Premier League. Last season, the Portuguese manager did well in the cup competitions, but he will be keen to compete in the league this season. No manager has won the Premier League with two different clubs and the current United boss will be keen to become the first.

One of the selection dilemmas that he has at the moment is the composition of his front-line. Romelu Lukaku is the undisputed starting striker until the return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Even at that stage, the Belgian is likely to be preferred in the central role. Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Juan Mata and Marcus Rashford have been the players operating supporting the striker more often than not. However, the contribution from Anthony Martial at the weekend could see him recalled into a more prominent role in the United squad.

The Frenchman came off the bench and scored the winning goal against Tottenham. It was great movement to get in behind the opposition defence and finish smartly after a Lukaku knock-on. He has contributed four goals and two assists in the Premier League this season, despite playing only 269 minutes. His goal involvement is currently at an impressive 44.8 minutes. Although his role as an impact substitute is helping in this, he is making the most of his opportunities and is becoming difficult to ignore for Jose Mourinho.

In Draft Fantasy, he is ranked as a midfielder and makes him an interesting play, especially as a fourth or fifth choice in the position. Despite playing nearly 100 fewer minutes than Paul Pogba, he has scored 38 points which is the same number as his international team-mate. If Martial is given a more prominent role and that is likely ahead of the Christmas schedule, he could become one of the must-own players in the game.

His underlying stats are impressive, as he is averaging 3.26 shots and 2.61 chances created per ninety minutes. If Mourinho is looking to bring him into the team for an extended run, it could be in the place of Marcus Rashford. The Englishman is currently averaging 3.1 shots and 1.33 chances created per ninety minutes. Although Martial is aided by playing against tired legs, it is difficult to ignore the attacking impact he does have on the game.

Even in his current role, Martial is ownable in Draft Fantasy due to his excellent goal involvement per minute. When he is on the pitch, he is heavily involved in the Manchester United attack and makes things happen for his side. However, if he starts to gain more minutes and gets a regular spot in the team, he will become one of the most attractive midfielders in the game, as he is played in an advanced role. Mourinho could be forced into an attacking change soon, due to Lukaku’s goals drying up. Until the return of Ibrahimovic, Martial is the biggest goal threat in the squad outside of the Belgian.
