Goals galore in gameweek 3 with a few surprise braces from popular fantasy assets. Personally, I’ve been expecting a brace from the bench from Darwin Nunez to be imminent, but I was more surprised to see Sterling’s return to form and a brace for Matty Cash! That’s all water under the bridge now as we race towards the end of the transfer window and headfirst for gameweek 4. Here are a few hidden gems to consider recruiting for this week.

Emerson Palmieiri (WHU) DEF      Ownership: 10.7%      Next Fixture: LUT (H)

Following 3-1 triumphs over Chelsea and Brighton, I expect West Ham to go one further this week and deliver points at both ends of the pitch. With James Ward-Prowse supplying quality into the box, this pick might easily have gone to one of West Ham’s big centre-backs, but instead I’m looking to Emerson’s pedigree to get involved in the attacking play and hopefully the points.

Anel Ahmedhodzic (SHU) DEF      Ownership: 1.9%      Next Fixture: EVE (H)

Those who followed the Championship last season will have seen plenty of Ahmedhodzic attacking potential, finding the net no fewer than 6 times in the league with a further brace of assists. With 5 shots already this season and having come agonisingly close to getting off the mark from the back post vs Manchester City last week, I can see this being the week for the breakthrough. With the bonus potential for a home clean sheet against the Toffees this weekend, the 1.9% owned defender could be a great differential.

Jordan Ayew (CRY) MID     Ownership: 19.4%      Next Fixture: WOL (H)

With all the preseason hype around Eze and goals for the better owned Andersen (DEF) and Edouard (FWD), Ayew has flown under the radar somewhat despite having picked up 2 assists and registering 10 shots on goal. With arguably the most favourable run of fixtures of the next 10 or so gameweeks, Crystal Palace assets may well soon be in short supply. Grab one now and get ahead of the pack!

Arnaut Danjuma (EVE) MID     Ownership: 10.8%      Next Fixture: SHU (A)

Despite a woeful start to the season and a scare midweek to League 2 Doncaster in the cup, I’m hedging my Ahmedhodzic bet with Arnaut Danjuma this week. If Everton are going to get anything from a fixture, it looks almost certain to have Danjuma involved. With the most shots of any Everton player this season, having registered 9 shots on goal in just 160 minutes of football, Danjuma could be worth a punt for those employing a revolving door policy with the 5th midfielder slot.

Zeki Amdouni (BUR) FWD     Ownership: 17.3%      Next Fixture: TOT (H)

Having had a tough start to their Premier League campaign with fixtures against Manchester City and Aston Villa sandwiching a blank gameweek, Burnley fans will be chomping at the bit to see their team pick up their outstanding Championship form from last season. It will be no easy task against a rejuvenated Spurs team, but I fancy the clean sheets to come to an end for Spurs at Turf Moor and I’m tipping the exciting Amdouni to be involved on the back of his goal in the cup midweek. With a dearth of strong forward options in the game, Amdouni could offer exceptional value if they can find their feet in the Premier League.

That will do it for this week. Best of luck on the waiver wire!
