They are regular starters and are very influential in the final third. The former is more likely to create and gain assists, while the latter is a bigger direct goal threat. They each have their pros and cons, but which one is the better one to have on your team?

Goals

Based on the last two seasons, Alli is the more reliable goal-scorer and quite significantly too. The England international has scored 30 Premier League goals since moving to Spurs, while Eriksen has found the back of the net 16 times during this period.

The 21-year-old has quickly established himself as one of the best finishers in the division and is likely to move past the 10-mark for the third successive season.

Eriksen is more likely to threaten from range and direct free-kick situations, which means that he gets fewer clear-cut chances. Alli is certainly the more advanced out of the two as the Danish international prefers to drop deep and influence the play from there.

Interestingly, Eriksen has been more productive when it comes to shooting at the start of the new season, as he averages 3.43 shots per ninety minutes whereas Alli averages 2.71. They currently both sit on two goals for the season.

Creativity

There are few better players in the Premier League when it comes to creating chances for team-mates in the final third than Christian Eriksen. During the last two seasons, he has contributed 28 assists and already has two to his name this year. He is the main creative presence in the current Tottenham team. At the start of this campaign, he is averaging 2.89 chances created per ninety minutes.

Although Dele Alli’s main responsibility is to support Kane and offer a goal threat, he averages 2.2 chances created per ninety minutes. His total of 16 assists during the last two seasons is impressive for a player in his role and he has contributed one at the start of the new season. The England international is less likely to play a defence-splitting through ball than Eriksen, but as he is regularly involved in the final third, he will create chances often.

Which one is better to own?

Currently, Eriksen is the best Tottenham player to own in Draft Fantasy as he sits on 43 points in leagues that have the Kante Rule and Bonus points activated.

He has two goals and three assists, while Alli has two of each. The 21-year-old is the second-best Spurs player as he has 39 points so far.

They are both excellent options in Draft Fantasy and are likely to be regular contributors in the final third.

As goals are worth more than assists, Alli looks to be the better own long-term as it is difficult not to see him finding the back of the net regularly. However, Eriksen’s consistency can’t be over stated as he rarely has a poor game.

Alli would be slightly favoured by this writer, but both of them are excellent to own and will finish in the top ten midfielders when the season finishes.
