Eden Hazard is quickly reaching his peak after missing the start of the season through injury and he now looks to be one of the best Draft Fantasy options heading into the festive period. At the time of writing, the Chelsea attacker has 55 points in the game. Considering he has been building up his match fitness and started only seven matches, this is an impressive return for the Belgian international.

On Saturday, he looked to be the best player on the pitch as Chelsea earned a point at Anfield. The 26-year-old was given a free role in front of the midfield and his dynamism caused Liverpool lots of problems in defence. Hazard was encouraged to run with the ball whenever it arrived at his feet and this made the Blues quicker in transition. He completed an impressive ten dribbles, which created space both for himself and his team-mates.

Hazard is an excellent decision maker in the final third, as shown by his pass success rate of 91%. The Belgian operates in advanced positions and is a known danger, yet his distribution is nearly flawless. Against Liverpool, he made five key passes and this included the assist for the Willian goal. Although it was more down to the incredible finish, rather than the pass, Hazard’s regular involvement in attack means that he is likely to earn fantasy points.

In addition to his dribbling and passing qualities, Hazard has an eye for goal and is often seen making runs in behind Alvaro Morata to offer support to the striker. He has three goals for the season at the moment, but this is likely to increase in the coming weeks. Antonio Conte has given the attacker set-piece responsibility and this adds to the value that he offers in Draft Fantasy, especially when Chelsea’s aerial presence is taken into account.

The upcoming fixtures look kind for the Blues, as they are only scheduled to play one top-six team before February 24th. There is a great opportunity for Chelsea to go on a run of positive results and there will be opportunities for Hazard to make significant final third contributions. Currently, Mohamed Salah and Raheem Sterling are the midfielders that are most in demand, but Hazard could quickly emerge as the highest scoring midfielder over the Christmas fixtures.

It is no surprise that Chelsea’s form has improved since the return of Hazard. His presence frees up space for others in the final third, while his ability to beat opposition players often makes a mockery of any defensive organisation they may have. At the age of 26, there are some that think he hasn’t lived up to his billing since signing for the Blues. He is clearly a quality player, but he has yet to step up to the world class mark. This season could be the making of him.
