Arsene Wenger had success with a 3-4-2-1 formation towards the end of last season and he is likely to persevere with it when the new campaign starts.
However, if they suffer a few bad results, he could switch back to a 4-2-3-1, which is another reason why a lot of their players don’t have enough fantasy value to be drafted in the early rounds.
That said, there are a few Arsenal players that you should be targeting. Here are the best three Draft Fantasy Football picks in the Gunners’ squad.
Alexis Sanchez
The uncertainty regarding his future will cause many to have doubts when it comes to drafting him, but it is looking increasingly likely that he will stay.
Arsenal have stayed true to their message that he isn’t for sale and he is now back in pre-season training ahead of the new season.
If he does stay with the club, he will be one of the most reliable point scorers in the game. Last season, he finished the season as the best midfielder by 30 points, after contributing 24 goals and 11 assists.
Although the arrival of Alexandre Lacazette could damage his goal-scoring potential, he will still score enough points to finish in the top five midfielders.
Sanchez is the only player at the Emirates Stadium that is a reliable and worthy first round pick. Cases can be made for Lacazette and Mesut Ozil, but neither are likely to outscore Sanchez if the Chilean does stay in North London.
Alexandre Lacazette
It is always a risk drafting a striker that hasn’t played in English football before as they may struggle to adapt. However, Lacazette has proven himself in France and at the age of 26, he should have the maturity and experience to make the transition.
He will be provided with good service at the Emirates Stadium and a player with his quality in front of goal will find the back of the net.
There are better strikers in the game that should be further up your wish-list, but Lacazette is a very good option.
The French international will be starting most matches for the Gunners and he has the potential to score more than 20 goals if he settles quickly.
There is an element of a gamble when it comes to the former Lyon forward, but his pedigree means that he is worth the risk.
Hector Bellerin
This may be seen as an odd choice, but Bellerin could prove to be a great pick-up in Draft Fantasy Football this season. There won’t be many eyeing him as a first-choice defender and that could allow you to pick him up in a later round as a result.
If Wenger does persist with the 3-4-2-1 formation, the Spanish international has the attributes to make a real success of the role. Last season, he barely made it into the top 25 defenders and that highlights how disappointing the campaign was for him personally.

However, he is only 22 and he will have the hunger to prove himself once again. Arsenal have always had full-backs that push on and Bellerin will frequently get into advanced positions.
A frontline of Ozil, Sanchez and Lacazette means goals and if the right-back improves his final ball, his number of assists will rise considerably. He is a risk, but the potential upside of drafting him in huge.
