The Premier League could be set for another high profile arrival, as Spanish newspaper Marca suggest that Manchester City have agreed a deal with Real Madrid right-back Danilo. The reports also indicate that Chelsea have not yet given up on the defender.

Initially, a right-back joining Manchester City in the wake of Kyle Walker’s £50 million arrival may not seem a desirable pick for your draft, but he could be one of the surprise packages this season.

Where will Danilo be positioned?

Guardiola is believed to see Danilo as an option not only at right-back, but also on the left of defence or in a holding midfield role.

If he instead opts to join Chelsea, which looks unlikely at this stage, he would compete with Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso, two of the highest scoring defenders in the draft.

How many Fantasy points could he earn?

In truth, it’s hard to judge the Brazilian on what he would have scored last season given that he was never first choice at the Bernabeu. That limits his points earned for playing over 60 minutes to just 32, with a further one point for playing less than that.

With a total of 54 points for what he would have earned last season, he may not be ideal. However, he is likely to feature more regularly if he is plying his trade in the Premier League next season.

What is more, with the Kante rule enabled, Danilo would have earned an additional 40 points, 22 for tackles and interceptions and 18 for recoveries.

What may be concerning is that he managed just four clean sheets in 17 appearances. He often lined up alongside weakened Real Madrid defences, but such a record far from suggests that he will bring defensive solidity to the Manchester City or Chelsea back-lines.

That said, Danilo could be a potentially promising pick. Like for Pep Guardiola, he may fall behind the likes of Kyle Walker, or Marcos Alonso or Victor Moses elsewhere, but attacking full-backs are always high scoring and could be a solid pick late in the draft.
